Sand Tracks

 25" x 60"

$4,400

Wind is omnipresent in the southwest, the one force of nature most evident in the landscape. The sound of it is constant in the springtime and it is never soothing. I have lived with it all of my life. It drives me crazy and fascinates me at the same time. Wind scours and carves the landscape, sucks moisture from the parched ground, then brings rain to lay a salve on the scourged flesh of the earth. The sandy places show the effects of wind immediately, and even as the patterns form, they change, tracking the movements of the wind like a radar screen, echoing even the sound, like ripples in a mirage.
